Monensin (brand name Monovet® 90) is an antiparasitic feed additive for cattle. Affects insect body balance, killing insects from the second day after infection. Effective against gram-positive bacteria, especially staph aureus, streptococcus, and bacillus subtilis. Used in cattle and poultry for prevention and treatment of coccidiosis.
