Huvepharma’s Parofor Crypto is an oral solution indicated for the reduction of diarrhea, primarily used in pre-ruminant calves.
INDICATIONS
- Target Species: Pre-ruminant calves (before they develop a functioning rumen).
- Condition: Reduction in the occurrence of diarrhoea caused by diagnosed Cryptosporidium parvum.
- Action: It reduces fecal oocyst shedding.
- Administration: It must be administered orally.
- Diagnosis Required: Calves should only be treated after confirmation of Cryptosporidium oocysts in their feces and before the onset of diarrhea.
- Dosage Duration: Typically administered at a dose rate of
paromomycin/kg body weight per day for seven consecutive days.
- Restrictions: Do not administer for more than 7 days, as it can cause gastrointestinal lesions.
ADMINISTRATION
- Target Species: Pre-ruminant calves.
- Dosage: 35,000 IU of paromomycin per kg of body weight (equivalent to 2.5 ml product / 10 kg BW) daily.
- Duration: Seven consecutive days.
- Route: Direct oral administration (dosing syringe).
- Timing: Should be administered once daily for the duration of the treatment, ideally at the same time.
