Permethrin

Permethrin spray is indicated for the control and prevention of ectoparasites in dogs and livestock, and their environments.

Dogs: Used to treat and prevent infestations of:
- Fleas: Kills adult fleas and may prevent multiplication for up to two months.
- Ticks: Kills and repels various tick species, including Brown Dog ticks, Lone Star ticks, and Deer ticks (vectors for Lyme disease).
- Lice and Mites: Controls chewing lice and mange mites.
- Flying Insects: Repels and kills mosquitoes, sand flies, biting flies, and gnats.
Livestock (Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Swine, Poultry):
- Controls horn flies, face flies, and stable flies.
- Treats lice and mites (including Northern Fowl Mites in poultry).
- Controls keds on sheep.
Horses: Controls stable flies, house flies, horse flies, and deer flies.

Animal housing and premises

Often used as a premise spray in barns, kennels, and stables to control flies, mosquitoes, and other pests in the environment.
Target Areas: Kennels, barns, stables, milking parlors, and poultry houses.
Target Pests: Effective against ants, cockroaches, spiders, crickets, and bedbugs in animal quarters.

Wear rubber gloves or mitts during application.
Spray the animal’s entire body, starting from the tail and moving rapidly to ensure coverage, including the legs and underbody.
Fluff the hair while spraying to help the product penetrate to the skin.
Ensure the animal is wet but not saturated.
Avoid spraying the face, eyes, and genitalia.
Do not use on puppies under twelve weeks old.
Application methods vary by species and target pest (e.g., spray to thoroughly cover the entire animal for lice/mites, or a lower-pressure spot treatment for flies on the face or backline).
Specific dilutions and application rates must be followed precisely based on the product label for the target animal and pest.
