Procaine Benzyl + Benzathine Penicillin is a long-acting antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats.
INDICATIONS
- Respiratory tract infections: This includes conditions like bacterial pneumonia and shipping fever complex.
- Skin and soft tissue infections: The injection is used for conditions such as abscesses, phlegmons, and certain skin infections.
- Reproductive and urinary tract infections: This includes metritis, nephritis, pyelonephritis, and general urogenital tract infections.
- Joint and naval infections: The medicine is indicated for arthritis and navel/joint-ill caused by susceptible bacteria.
- Clostridial diseases: It is effective against diseases like blackleg (caused by Clostridium chauvoei).
- Erysipelas.
- Mastitis.
- Leptospirosis.
- Septicemia.
- Necrobacteriosis.
ADMINISTRATION
- Route: The medication is typically administered via intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection. Intravenous administration is not recommended and can cause adverse neurological reactions.

- Withdrawal Periods: In food-producing animals, strict withdrawal times for meat and milk must be observed to avoid drug residues in products for human consumption. For beef cattle treated with a typical combination product, the meat withdrawal time is usually 30 days. The product is not approved for use in lactating dairy cattle.
