INDICATIONS

  • Cattle: Tulathromycin is used for both the treatment and control (metaphylaxis) of bovine respiratory disease (BRD), which is a major cause of pneumonia. It is also approved for treating infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (pinkeye) and bovine foot rot (interdigital necrobacillosis).
  • Swine (Pigs): It is indicated for the treatment and control of swine respiratory disease (SRD), which involves a range of bacterial pathogens.
  • Sheep: The injection is used to treat the early stages of infectious foot rot.
  • Foals: In foals, it has been used extra-label (off-label use requires a veterinarian’s direction) for treating pulmonary abscesses and bronchopneumonia, though it may be less effective than combination therapies for certain pathogens like Rhodococcus equi.
