KAPEVAC Duck Plague Virus Vaccine

Ceva's KAPEVAC Duck Plague Virus Vaccine is indicated for the active immunization of ducks against Duck Viral Enteritis. Used in healthy flocks at risk, with specific schedules for breeding and younger birds.

Duck Plague Virus (DPV) vaccine is indicated for active immunization of healthy ducks and geese to prevent Duck Viral Enteritis (DVE).

INDICATIONS

  • Active Immunization: Used for the active immunization of susceptible waterfowl species, including ducks, geese, and swans, against Duck Plague.
  • High-Risk Flocks: Recommended for use in flocks where Duck Plague has already been diagnosed or in those at high risk of exposure due to potential virus introduction.
  • Breeding Flocks: Specifically indicated to provide high levels of specific immunity in breeder ducks to maintain health throughout the laying period.
  • Outbreak Management: It can be administered to all birds over two weeks of age during an outbreak to elicit rapid protection. 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Route: Subcutaneous injection (typically under the skin of the neck).
  • Breeding Flocks: Two injections of 1 ml each, administered approximately 8 and 4 weeks (or 4 and 2 weeks) before the beginning of the laying period.
  • Affected Flocks: All ducks older than two or three weeks should be vaccinated twice, with an interval of two to three weeks between doses.
  • Broilers/Meat Ducks: A single vaccination is generally sufficient for birds older than two weeks.
