Bio-Med Fowl Pox Vaccine (Live I.P.) is indicated for the active immunization of healthy chickens against Fowl Pox disease. It is designed to provide solid, long-lasting immunity. A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Bio-Med Fowl Pox Vaccine (Live I.P.) is indicated for the active immunization of healthy chickens against Fowl Pox disease.

INDICATIONS

  • Target Disease: Prevention of Fowl Pox virus, which causes wart-like lesions on the skin and/or diphtheritic lesions in the mouth/respiratory tract.
  • Age of Administration: While effective in day-old chicks, it is often recommended for use at 4-5 weeks, with a booster at 14-15 weeks in high-risk areas.
  • Method of Administration: Administered via wing web stab (wing-web puncture).
  • Vaccination Check: A “take” (small swelling or scab) should be visible at the site of vaccination 7 to 10 days after application.
  • Safety: The ‘BM’ strain is described as stress-free and suitable for young chicks and laying birds.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Method: Dip the applicator into the vaccine, then stab the wing web, avoiding feathers, large blood vessels, and bone.
  • Vaccination Check: A successful “take” (small scab or swelling) should appear at the site 7–10 days post-vaccination.
  • Storage & Preparation: Store the vaccine at 2–8°C. Reconstitute the vaccine using the provided diluent (e.g., 500 doses in 250 ml) and use immediately.
  • Safety: Do not vaccinate birds within 21 days of slaughter or 4 weeks before they begin laying.
  • Timing: Vaccinate only healthy birds.
