Pradofloxacin is a third generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (BRD).
INDICATIONS
Pradalex (pradofloxacin injection) is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for the treatment of respiratory diseases in cattle and swine.
Pradalex is indicated for Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) in cattle caused by Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni, and Mycoplasma bovis. It is indicated for Swine Respiratory Disease (SRD) caused by certain bacteria in swine.
ADMINISTRATION
in Cattle
- Route: Subcutaneous injection (under the skin) in the neck.
- Dosage: 10 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 2.3 mL per 100 lb body weight.
- Volume Limit: Do not inject more than 15 mL per subcutaneous injection site.
- Withdrawal Period: 4 days before slaughter.
in Swine
- Route: Intramuscular injection in the neck.
- Dosage: 7.5 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 1.7 mL per 100 lb body weight.
- Volume Limit: Do not inject more than 5 mL per intramuscular injection site.
- Withdrawal Period: 2 days
