Albendazole oral suspension is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic primarily indicated for the removal and control of various parasitic worms in cattle, sheep, and goats.
INDICATIONS
- Stomach and Intestinal Worms: A variety of roundworms and hookworms, including Haemonchus, Ostertagia (including inhibited larvae), Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, and Oesophagostomum species.
- Lungworms: Effective against species like Dictyocaulus viviparus and D. filaria.
- Tapeworms: Controls common tapeworms such as Moniezia spp..
- Liver Flukes: Used for the removal and control of adult liver flukes (Fasciola hepatica).
ADMINISTRATION
The suspension is administered orally using a dosing gun or syringe. It is a broad-spectrum treatment for both mature and developing immature forms of various parasites:
- Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Including Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Cooperia, and Bunostomum species.
- Lungworms: Such as Dictyocaulus viviparus and D. filaria.
- Tapeworms: Effective against Moniezia species and fringed tapeworms (Thysanosoma actinioides).
- Liver Flukes: Used to treat adult liver flukes (Fasciola hepatica) and deer flukes (Fascioloides magna).
For non-lactating goats, it is specifically approved for the treatment of adult liver flukes.
