Amitraz Dip Concentrate is indicated for controlling ticks, mites, and lice in cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and dogs, working as a broad-spectrum ectoparasiticide by paralyzing and killing pests.
INDICATIONS
- Mites: Treatment of mange caused by mites, particularly generalized demodicosis (Demodex canis) in dogs, as well as sarcoptic mange and psoroptic/chorioptic scabies in livestock.
- Ticks: Control and elimination of a variety of hard ticks in dogs, cattle, sheep, and goats.
- Lice: Treatment of infestations by biting and chewing lice in susceptible species.
- Fleas: Control of flea infestations in dogs and, when combined with other active ingredients in spot-on formulations, prevention of environmental flea contamination.
ADMINISTRATION
- Preparation: Clip long-haired dogs closely and bathe them first with mild soap, then towel dry.
- Dilution: Mix the concentrate with warm water per label directions (e.g., 10.6 mL per 2 gallons for dogs) in a clean container.
- Application:
- Wear rubber gloves to protect your skin.
- Thoroughly wet the entire animal with the solution, ensuring coverage around ears, tail, and underbelly.
- Use as a dip, sponge, or low-pressure spray.
- Drying: Let the animal air dry completely; do not rinse or towel dry, as this reduces effectiveness.
- Repeat: Prepare a fresh mixture for each treatment and continue treatments (e.g., every 14 days for mites) until mites are gone
