• Poultry (chickens, turkeys, pheasants): Amprolium is widely used in growing chickens, turkeys, and laying hens for both the prevention and treatment of outbreaks caused by various Eimeria species.
• Calves: It is approved as an aid in the treatment and prevention of bovine coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zurnii.
• Other Animals: In some regions, it is also used off-label or indicated for use in sheep, goats, swine, dogs, and cats.

ADMINISTRATION

• Administration: The powder is designed to be dissolved in the animals’ drinking water, making it easy to treat a whole flock or group of animals on a herd basis. Medicated water should be made fresh daily.
• Treatment vs. Prevention: It can be used for short-term treatment of active infections (typically 3-5 days at a higher dose, followed by a lower dose for a week or two) or administered at a lower concentration for longer periods as a preventative during high-risk periods.
