Avermectin pour-on solution is indicated for the treatment and control of a broad spectrum of internal and external parasites in cattle. They are not approved for use in other species via the pour-on method.
INDICATIONS
Avermectin pour-on solution Is effective against these parasites in cattle :
- Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Various species including Ostertagia ostertagi, Haemonchus placei, and Oesophagostomum radiatum.
- Lungworms: Dictyocaulus viviparus.
- Cattle Grubs: The parasitic stages of Hypoderma bovis and H. lineatum. Proper timing is important to avoid adverse host-parasite reactions if the grubs are in vital areas like the spinal canal or esophagus.
- Lice: Sucking and biting lice species such as Linognathus vituli and Damalinia bovis. The product can protect against re-infestation of biting lice for up to 56 days.
- Mites: Sarcoptes scabiei var. bovis.
- Horn Flies: Controls Haematobia irritans for up to 28 days.
ADMINISTRATION
The solution is administered topically (on the skin surface only) using a measure-squeeze-pour bottle or an automatic dosing gun connected to a larger container.
- Dosage: The standard dose for cattle is 1 mL for every 22 pounds (10 kg) of body weight.
- Application: The measured dose is poured in a narrow strip along the animal’s topline, extending from the withers (shoulder area) to the tailhead.
