SALVAVIDAS Salbenz lotion is indicated for the topical treatment of ectoparasite infestations in dogs and horses.
INDICATIONS
- Mange (scabies): Treatment of infestations caused by mites, such as Sarcoptes mites.
- Lice infestations (pediculosis): Elimination of lice on the body and head of animals.
- Insect repellent: Used as a repellent for various biting insects, including flies, midges (which cause sweet itch in horses), ticks, and chiggers.
ADMINISTRATION
- Preparation: The affected area should be clipped of long hair, washed with a mild soap and warm water, and dried thoroughly before application.
- Application:
- Wear protective gloves (vinyl or rubber) during application.
- Apply the lotion generously to the affected areas using a soft cloth or fingers.
- For mange, the initial application may be done twice a day, reducing frequency as irritation lessens. For other uses, a single application may be left on for 24 hours before washing off.
- Frequency: Repeat treatments may be necessary after 7-14 days for severe infestations, or as advised by a veterinarian.
- Environmental Treatment: To prevent re-infestation, all clothes, bedding, and equipment that came into contact with the infested animal should be washed or cleaned.
