OBP Calf Paratyphoid vaccine is indicated for the prophylactic immunisation of calves and pregnant cows against paratyphoid.

INDICATIONS

• High-Risk Premises: Primarily indicated for farms or facilities with a known history of S. typhimurium and S. bovis-morbificans.
• Early Protection for Calves: While calves rarely contract paratyphoid before two weeks of age, the vaccine can be administered to pregnant cows to provide passive immunity to newborns.
• Concomitant Therapy: Unlike live vaccines, this inactivated version can be used alongside antibiotic therapy.
• Superior Protection: A two-injection regimen is recommended to achieve a superior level of immunity compared to a single dose. 

ADMINISTRATION

• Route: Subcutaneous (SC) injection.
• Dosage: 2 mL for calves, with 5 mL for cows in gestation.
• Site: Under the skin, generally recommended behind the shoulder or on the neck.
• Timing: Calves should be vaccinated between 15 to 30 days of age.
• Storage: Keep between 2°C and 8°C; do not freeze.
