BIOPROPERTIES EIMERIAVAX 4m vaccine is indicated for the active immunization of chickens against coccidiosis.

INDICATIONS

  • Reduction of clinical signs such as diarrhea associated with Eimeria acervulina and other Eimeria species included in the specific vaccine formulation (e.g., E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. necatrix, E. tenella, E. mitis, E. praecox).
  • Reduction of intestinal lesions caused by the protozoan parasite infection.
  • Reduction of oocyst shedding in the feces, which helps to lower the overall parasite load in the environment and reduce transmission.
  • Prevention of performance losses and mortality in commercial poultry production systems, acting as an alternative to continuous use of anticoccidial drugs to which resistance can develop.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Coarse Spray: This method is often performed at the hatchery, typically when chicks are one day old. The vaccine is diluted with clean, room-temperature water and a colored dye is often added to help ensure uniform application. The mixture is then applied as a coarse spray over the chicks, who ingest the oocysts as they preen their feathers or peck at the droplets. After spraying, chicks are typically kept in their transportation boxes for a period (e.g., 1 hour) to encourage complete ingestion before being placed on litter.
  • On-Feed Application: The diluted vaccine can be sprayed directly onto the surface of the feed just before consumption by the chickens. This method requires careful calibration to ensure an even distribution and that the feed is only dampened, not soaked.
  • Drinking Water (less common for E. acervulina specific vaccines, but used in general coccidiosis control programs): Some multicomponent coccidiosis vaccines can be administered via drinking water.
