INDICATIONS
Active Immunisation: For use in susceptible breeding female sheep to aid in the prevention of abortion and stillbirth caused by Chlamydia abortus.
Pre-Tupping Prevention: Can be used before mating (pre-tupping) to establish immunity in a naïve flock or replacements.
Pregnancy Control: Unlike live vaccines, Mydiavac can be used during pregnancy to help control EAE in already infected flocks or during an active outbreak.
Outbreak Management: Used as an emergency treatment, often alongside antibiotics like oxytetracycline, to reduce the severity of an ongoing abortion storm.
ADMINISTRATION
Route of Administration: It is administered via an intramuscular (IM) injection.
Dosage: The dosage is 1 ml.
Injection Site: The recommended site is in the middle of the neck, approximately 3 to 4 inches in front of the shoulder.
Administration Technique: A sterile syringe and needle or a vaccination gun should be used to inject into clean, dry skin using aseptic techniques.
Vaccination Protocol:
Primary Vaccination: One dose is typically given around 1 month before tupping (breeding) or at least 4 weeks after the ram is removed.
Booster: The vaccination should be repeated 771 days after the initial dose.
