Huvepharma’s EIMERIAVAX 4m is a live vaccine used to control coccidiosis, an intestinal disease in chickens.
INDICATIONS
Reduction of clinical signs such as diarrhea, lethargy, and ruffled feathers.
Reduction of intestinal lesions, particularly in the cecal region, which is the primary site of E. tenella infection.
Reduction of oocyst output, which lessens environmental contamination and the spread of the parasite.
Protection against performance losses, including compromised growth rates, reduced weight gain, and decreased feed efficiency that are often associated with coccidiosis.
Prevention of secondary infections, such as necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens, which often occurs in birds with Eimeria-damaged intestines.
ADMINISTRATION
Feed Spray (Most Common):
Dilute the vaccine with water in a clean container.
Use a suitable sprayer (e.g., 28ml/100 chicks) with appropriate pressure (2-3 bars) and droplet size (200-250 µm).
Spray evenly over the surface of the feed, ensuring it’s just damp, not wet.
Administer immediately before chicks eat to ensure ingestion.
In-Ovo (Egg Injection):
Injected into the egg (amnion) before hatching, providing protection from day one for broiler chickens.
Drinking Water (Less Common for Live Vaccines): While some vaccines use water, spray on feed is often preferred for live Eimeria vaccines to control dose.
