Arko Labs ERY VAC 100 vaccine is designed to protect against Swine Erysipelas caused by the bacterium Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.
INDICATIONS
- Target Species: Healthy swine, typically at 8 weeks of age or older.
- Disease Prevention: Specifically targets Swine Erysipelas, a bacterial infection often carried in the tonsils and intestines of a significant portion of the swine population.
- Administration Method: Primarily designed for oral administration through the drinking water (waterline), though it can also be administered individually.
- Dose Approval: It is noted as the only freeze-dried vaccine approved for one-dose administration on the market.
ADMINISTRATION
Arko Labs ERY VAC 100 is administered orally, typically via drinking water or individual oral dosing, for swine 8 weeks of age or older.
Individual Pig Administration
- Rehydrate: Rehydrate the vaccine vial with water to a total volume of 20 ml.
- Dilute: Combine this 20 ml mixture with 25 oz. of water.
- Dose: Promptly administer 1/4 oz. orally per pig.
Drinking Water (Mass) Administration
- Preparation: Discontinue use of medications or disinfectants in the water 3 days before and 3 days after vaccination.
- Water Quality: Use only clean, cool, non-chlorinated water.
- Stabilization: Use an oral vaccine stabilizer, such as Arko StableDYE-zer, or skim milk to neutralize residual chlorine.
- Rehydrate: Rehydrate the vaccine just before use and shake well to dissolve.
- Consumption: Add the vaccine to an amount of water that will be completely consumed by thirsty pigs in approximately 6 to 8 hours.
- Rate: One 100-dose vial is used for every 100 pigs.
