Huvepharma Coccidiosis Vaccine for Turkeys is indicated for the vaccination of healthy turkeys, to aid in the prevention of coccidiosis caused by three specific Eimeria species: Eimeria adenoeides, E. meleagrimitis, and E. gallopavonis. A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

INDICATIONS

  • Target Species: Turkeys.
  • Target Parasites: Eimeria adenoeides, E. meleagrimitis, and E. gallopavonis, which are recognized as highly pathogenic, predominant species in commercial turkey production causing significant economic losses.
  • Purpose: To provide active immunization (building immunity) through controlled exposure to these live parasites at an early age.
  • Age of Administration: One day of age or older.
  • Administration Method: Coarse spray.
  • Vaccine Type: Contains live oocysts of the three Eimeria species, as well as gentamicin and amphotericin B as preservatives.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Method: Coarse spray, typically using a specialized spray cabinet (such as those provided by Huvepharma) to ensure uniform coverage.
  • Timing: Administered at one day of age.
  • Preparation: The vaccine (vial with white sediment) is shaken well and diluted with clean, cool tap water.
  • Dosage: The vaccine is usually diluted to provide roughly 25 mL of vaccine/dye solution per 100 turkeys.
  • Volume Adjustment: For a 5,000-dose vial, a common recommendation is dilution to 1,250 mL of total solution when using a standard spray cabinet.
  • Dye: A dye is often added to the solution to make the droplets visible to the birds, promoting preening and ingestion.
