Pneumequine Vaccine

Boehringer's Pneumequine vaccine is used to prevent diseases in horses caused by Equine Herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1), also known as equine rhinopneumonitis. Contains inactivated Equine herpesvirus 1 (strain Kentucky) glycoproteins, and is administered by intramuscular injection, which typically involves two injections given a month apart, followed by annual boosters.

Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) vaccine is indicated for reducing respiratory illness, abortion, and neonatal death risks in horses.

INDICATIONS

  • For the active immunization of horses against equine rhinopneumonitis caused by Equine Herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1).
  • Help prevent diseases in horses caused by EHV-1.
  • Help limit the respiratory and abortive forms of the disease.
  • Reduce the severity and duration of clinical signs, as well as the shedding and transmission of the virus.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Route: Intramuscular (IM).
  • Site: Most commonly the neck muscles, forming a triangle above the shoulder blade and below the nuchal ligament, avoiding the spine. Other sites like pectoral muscles or hindquarters can also be used.
