Zoetis Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA) vaccine is used to immunize horses against equine viral arteritis (EVA). A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Zoetis Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA) vaccine is used to immunize horses against equine viral arteritis (EVA).

INDICATIONS

  • Target Species: Horses and ponies over 9 months old.
  • Purpose: To reduce clinical signs and respiratory shedding of the Equine Arteritis Virus (EAV).
  • Administration: Intramuscular injection, 1 ml dose.
  • Primary Course: Two doses administered 3–6 weeks apart.
  • Boosters: Recommended every 6 months.
  • Onset of Immunity: 3 weeks post-primary vaccination.
  • Special Note: It does not protect against the establishment of the chronic carrier state in stallions.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Route: Intramuscular (IM) injection, typically in the neck muscle.
  • Dosage: A single 1ml dose per injection.
  • Primary Course: Two doses (V1 and V2) administered 3–6 weeks apart.
  • Boosters: Recommended every 6 months to maintain immunity.
  • Pre-vaccination Check: Animals must be tested for seronegativity to the virus before the initial vaccination.
  • Storage: Shake well before use.
