Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) vaccine is indicated for the prevention of Gumboro, a highly contagious viral infection in young chickens.
INDICATIONS
- Prevention of IBD: Prevents the economically significant viral disease in chickens.
- Age: For healthy chickens 7-14 days old, but can be delayed in chicks from immune parents.
- Immune Enhancement: Stimulates a stronger response for better protection and ensures maximum effectiveness when followed by inactivated IBD vaccines.
- Breeder Programs: An essential part of broiler breeder vaccination to prime for later booster shots.
ADMINISTRATION
- Target: Healthy, susceptible chickens.
- Route: Typically given through drinking water or coarse spray.:
- Purpose: To immunize healthy chickens against Infectious Bursal Disease (also known as Gumboro disease).
- Target audience: Healthy, susceptible chickens.
- Recommended timing: Typically administered to chickens 7–14 days of age. For flocks from immune parents, vaccination should be delayed until they are at least 10 days old for the best protection.
FOR DRINKING WATER USE
DO NOT OPEN AND MIX THE VACCINE UNTIL READY TO BEGIN VACCINATION. USE VACCINE IMMEDIATELY AFTER MIXING.
- Remove tear-off seal and stopper from the vial containing the lyophilized vaccine.
- Carefully pour clean, cool, non-chlorinated water into the vaccine vial until vial is approximately two-thirds full.
- Insert the rubber stopper and shake vigorously until all material is dissolved.
- The vaccine is now ready to be applied as per label in accordance with the directions below.
