Bio-Med’s Avian Infectious Bronchitis Vaccine, Live, I.P. is a freeze-dried, live-attenuated vaccine containing the Massachusetts strain (H-120) to prevent Infectious Bronchitis in chickens.
INDICATIONS
- Target Species: Chickens (broilers, layers, and breeders).
- Purpose: Prevention and control of Infectious Bronchitis disease, which causes respiratory distress, reduced weight gain, and drops in egg production.
- Strain: Contains the “Massachusetts strain” H-120, which is highly attenuated.
- Safety: The vaccine is safe for birds under 5 weeks of age, typically producing no significant stress, lameness, or mortality when administered.
- Outbreak Management: It is recommended for use as a booster and to control outbreaks.
- Method of Application: Can be administered via drinking water, intraocular (eye drop), or intranasal routes.
ADMINISTRATION
- Ocular/Intranasal Route (Eye/Nose Drop): This is a highly effective method. One drop of the reconstituted vaccine is applied to the eye or nostril of each chick using a standardized dropper.
- Oral Route: One drop of the reconstituted vaccine can be given orally.
- Drinking Water Method: The vaccine is mixed with fresh, cold, non-sanitized, and non-chlorinated water.
- Reconstitution: Freeze-dried vaccine must be reconstituted with the provided diluent or Sterile Normal Saline (0.9% Sodium Chloride).
- Dilution Ratio:
- 100 doses: 4 ml diluent
- 200 doses: 8 ml diluent
- 500 doses: 20 ml diluent
- 1000 doses: 40 ml diluent
- Drinking Water Procedure:
- Thirsting: Birds should be kept thirsty for 1 to 2 hours before vaccination to ensure quick consumption.
- Stabilization: Add 5 grams of dry skimmed milk powder per liter of water to stabilize the vaccine.
- Volume: Use enough water that can be consumed within 1-2 hours (e.g., 1000 doses in 10-20 liters of water).
