ADMINISTRATION
- Direct Oral Administration: The tablet can be given directly into the animal’s mouth. For dogs, this involves gently opening the mouth, placing the tablet at the back of the throat, and then rubbing the throat to encourage swallowing.
- Mixed with Food: Mebendazole tablets are palatable or can be crushed and mixed with a small amount of the animal’s feed to make administration easier.
- Dissolved in Water (for specific formulations): Certain chewable tablet formulations can be placed in a small amount of water (2-3 mL) in a spoon. The tablet absorbs the water within a couple of minutes, turning into a soft, semi-solid mass that can be swallowed easily.
