INDICATIONS

  • Chronic Pneumonia: Indicated for healthy swine and newborn pigs as an aid in preventing chronic (enzootic) pneumonia caused by M. hyopneumoniae.
  • Lung Lesions: Specifically indicated to reduce the frequency and severity of macroscopic lung lesions associated with infection.
  • Growth Performance: To mitigate performance losses by improving average daily weight gain (ADG) and feed conversion ratios (FCR) in herds suffering from significant clinical disease.
  • Porcine Respiratory Disease Complex (PRDC): Controlling M. hyo is critical in multi-pathogen environments.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Intramuscular (IM): The most common method, involving injecting into the muscle, usually in the neck area.
  • Intradermal (ID): Uses specialized needle-free injectors (like Dermo-Jet or Vaccijet) for smaller volumes (e.g., 0.2 mL) directly into the skin, often in the neck.
  • Intrapulmonary (IP) / Aerosol: Used for live vaccines, delivered directly into the lungs for early, localized immunity, especially in young piglets. 
  • Dose & Volume: Varies by product; 1-2 mL for IM, smaller (0.2 mL) for ID.
  • Timing: Often given at weaning or later, with single or multi-dose protocols.
