Bovilis Rotavec Corona Vaccine

Bioveta KOLIBIN RC Neo is a vaccine for cattle, designed for the active immunization of pregnant heifers and cows. Its primary purpose is to provide passive immunization to newborn calves against neonatal diarrhea caused by bovine rotavirus, bovine coronavirus, and enteropathogenic E. coli strains (K99).

Bioveta KOLIBIN RC Neo is an inactivated emulsion vaccine for cattle, designed for the active immunization of pregnant cows and heifers to provide passive immunity to their calves.

INDICATIONS

  • Target Population: Pregnant heifers and cows.
  • Purpose: To induce specific antibodies against pathogens causing gastro-enteric diseases (scours) in newborn calves.
  • Target Diseases (Calves): The vaccine helps protect calves against diarrhea and enteric infections caused by:
    • Bovine Rotavirus (strain TM-91)
    • Bovine Coronavirus (strain C-197)
    • Enteropathogenic E. coli strains (serovars O8:K35, K99; O9:K35, K99; O101:K30, K99)

ADMINISTRATION

  • Method: Intramuscular injection, preferably into the gluteal region.
  • Dosage: A single 2 ml dose per animal.
  • Target Animals: Pregnant heifers and cows.
  • Vaccination Schedule:
    • Primary Vaccination: Two doses given 21 days apart, administered 7–5 weeks and 4–2 weeks before the expected calving.
    • Revaccination: A single booster dose is given before each subsequent calving.
  • Preparation: Before use, warm the vaccine to a temperature between 15°C and 25°C and shake the vial thoroughly.
Passive Immunity for Calves
The vaccine is designed to provide passive immunity to newborn calves via the mother’s colostrum. For this to be effective, calves must drink an adequate volume of colostrum from the vaccinated dam within the first 6 hours of life.
