Duddingtonia Flagrans is a biological control agent for reducing the infective larval stages of gastrointestinal nematodes (GIN) in grazing animals.

INDICATIONS

• Reduction of pasture contamination: The primary use is to break the worm life cycle by capturing and consuming infective larvae within the animal’s manure, which prevents them from migrating onto the pasture.
• Control of gastrointestinal nematodes: It is used to manage infections caused by a wide variety of worm genera, including those that have developed resistance to chemical anthelmintics (dewormers). The fungus targets the free-living stages of these parasites.
• Integrated parasite management: It is a strategic tool for use as part of an integrated parasite management program, ideally after an animal has been treated with a chemical dewormer to clear its existing parasitic burden.
• Applicable species: Efficacy has been demonstrated in a range of grazing livestock, including:

ADMINISTRATION

• Mixed into Feed/Supplements: The most common method involves calculating the correct dosage based on the animal’s body weight and thoroughly mixing the powder into a daily ration of feed, concentrate, or a vitamin/mineral premix. It is important to ensure that the animal consumes the entire amount of treated feed.
• Mineral Licks: The powder can also be incorporated into a mineral lick or loose mineral mix.
• Oral Pellets or Capsules: In some studies or specific formulations, the chlamydospores have been provided in the form of oral pellets or gelatin capsules for individual administration.
