Moxifloxacin ophthalmic solution is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial eye infections in dogs and cats.

INDICATIONS

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye).
  • Keratitis (inflammation of the cornea).
  • Corneal ulcers caused by susceptible bacteria.
  • Other bacterial infections of the eye, such as blepharitis or dacryocystitis

ADMINISTRATION

  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after handling the medication.
  • Do not contaminate the dropper tip. Do not allow it to touch animal’s eye, eyelids, or any other surface.
  • Gently pull down on animal’s lower eyelid to create a small pocket or pouch.
  • Instill the prescribed number of drops into the eye.
  • Release animal’s head and allow them to blink, which helps spread the solution evenly over the eye surface.
  • Complete the full course of treatment, even if the symptoms improve sooner, to ensure the infection is fully resolved, and to prevent recurrence.
  • If using multiple eye medications, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes between applications to avoid diluting the medication.
  • Repeat the full course of medication, even if symptoms improve quickly.
