Avatec Feed Mix

Phibro Avatec (lasalocid) is a polyether ionophore antibiotic feed additive used to prevent coccidiosis in poultry and some game birds. Acts against various Eimeria species, aiding in improved feed efficiency and weight gain. A WOAH and CODEX Veterinary Medicine.

Avatec (lasalocid) is an antibiotic feed additive used to prevent coccidiosis in poultry and some game birds.

INDICATIONS

  • Broiler/Fryer Chickens: Prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. brunetti, E. mivati, and E. maxima.
  • Growing Turkeys: Prevention of coccidiosis caused by E. adenoeides, E. meleagrimitis, and E. gallopavonis.
  • Minor Species: Prevention of coccidiosis in chukar partridges (E. legionensis), and generally in rabbits and other minor avian species (pheasants, quail).
  • Performance: Increases the rate of weight gain and improves feed efficiency in broiler chickens.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Typically mixed into feed, with dosages commonly ranging from 75–125 mg lasalocid sodium per kg of complete feed.
  • Poultry (Broilers/Turkeys): Mix thoroughly into feed at a rate of 68 g to 113 g of lasalocid per ton of feed (0.0075% to 0.0125% concentration). Feed continuously as the only ration.
  • Rabbits: Administer in feed at a concentration of 113 g/ton for rabbits up to 6 1/2 weeks of age.
  • Cattle: Administer in feed or medicated feed blocks, aiming for a 200 mg lasalocid sodium per head per day dosage.
  • Mixing Precautions: When adding less than one pound of the Type A medicated article per ton of feed, it is recommended to pre-mix the Avatec with a small amount of feed (10-25 lbs) before blending it into the final batch.
