Bioveta Lecirelin Injection is a synthetic GnRH analogue used in cattle, horses, and rabbits for reproductive management.

INDICATIONS

Cattle
  • Treatment of Follicular Ovarian Cysts: It induces luteinization or ovulation of cystic follicles.
  • Induction and Synchronization of Ovulation: Used to make the timing of ovulation more precise, often as part of fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) protocols like “OvSynch”.
  • Improvement of Conception Rates: Administered at the time of or shortly after insemination to enhance fertility.
  • Management of Acyclicity: Used for non-cycling animals or those with irregular cycles to restart normal estrous cycles.
Rabbits
  • Induction of Ovulation: Stimulates the release of eggs, which is necessary for reproduction in rabbits.
  • Enhancement of Conception Rates: Improves the likelihood of successful pregnancy after mating or insemination.
Horses
  • Induction of Ovulation: Used to control the timing of ovulation in mares during the breeding season.
  • Pregnancy Management: Supports reproductive efficiency and improves pregnancy maintenance.
Other Species
  • Sheep and Goats: Similar to cattle, it is used for induction of ovulation and enhancing conception rates.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Cattle (Cows/Heifers): The primary route is intramuscular. A common site for intramuscular injections in cattle is the neck area to minimize carcass damage. Research has also explored the epidural route, which has shown increased efficacy in treating ovarian cysts, but this is a specialized procedure that is not standard.
  • Mares: The recommended route is also intramuscular.
  • Rabbits: Intramuscular injection is standard, often in a very small volume. Studies have also been conducted using the intravaginal route (by adding the lecirelin to the seminal dose during artificial insemination) as an alternative method to simplify procedures.
