Hygromycin

Hygromycin medicated feed is indicated in poultry and swine for the control of specific intestinal parasite infections.

Ascaris galli (Large Roundworms): A common intestinal parasite affecting chickens.
Heterakis gallinae (Cecal Worms): These worms reside in the ceca (blind pouches of the intestine).
Capillaria obsignata (Capillary Worms/Threadworms): Affect the small intestine.

Mixing: The concentrated Hygromix (Type A Article) is thoroughly mixed into a small amount of feed first, then into the bulk feed to create a uniform Type C medicated feed.
Feeding: Animals receive the Type C feed as a sole ration or part of their diet, following label directions for specific growth stages (e.g., 8 weeks for market hogs).
Water: Ensure constant access to fresh, clean water.
Species Specific: Formulated for poultry and swine; not for other animals.
Withdrawal Period: Must stop feeding several days before slaughter to prevent residues in meat.
Breeding Stock Caution: Avoid in gilts/sows due to potential hearing/vision impairment, which affects mothering.
Not for Egg Layers: Not for use in turkeys producing eggs for humans.
