Administration can be done via subcutaneous (SQ) or intramuscular (IM) injection after the birds have been moved to the farm. 

Vaccination is often used in high-risk poultry such as layer hens, pullets, and turkeys in specific geographic areas, and may not be used for broilers intended for export markets. 

Birds may need a minimum of two doses to ensure adequate protection. Additional booster vaccinations might be necessary depending on the vaccine technology and the length of the production cycle, and this is monitored by tracking antibody levels in the flock.
