Globion H9N2 Avian Influenza vaccine is indicated for the active immunization of healthy chickens against Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza (LPAI) subtype H9N2.

INDICATIONS

  • Active Immunization: It stimulates the immune system of chickens to produce protective antibodies against the H9N2 strain.
  • Disease Prevention and Control: Used to prevent or reduce infections, clinical symptoms, and pathological damage to the lungs and trachea caused by H9N2 in commercial poultry.
  • Reduction of Virus Shedding: Vaccination helps lower the frequency of virus isolation and shedding in the respiratory tract.
  • Protection Against Economic Loss: Helps maintain flock productivity, including weight gain and feed conversion efficiency, during H9N2 outbreaks.
  • Serological Monitoring: Used in endemic regions to maintain protective antibody titers (HI antibody).

ADMINISTRATION

  • Subcutaneous Injection: The most common route is under the skin, often in the neck area.
  • Intramuscular Injection: The vaccine can also be injected into the muscle, typically the pectoralis (breast) muscle.
  • Dose Volume: A standard dose is usually 0.5 ml per bird, though you must verify the specific volume on the manufacturer’s product label.
    • Key Administration Guidelines
      • Age of Vaccination: It is frequently administered to broilers or layers around 7 to 11 days of age, depending on the farm’s disease pressure and local health protocols.
      • Temperature: Allow the vaccine to reach room temperature (10-25 degrees C) before use to reduce tissue irritation and improve flow through the syringe.
      • Preparation: Shake the bottle well before and during use to ensure the oil-emulsion remains uniform.
      • Equipment: Use sterile automatic syringes and change needles regularly to prevent the spread of other pathogens between birds.
