INDICATIONS

• Respiratory Tract Infections: This includes conditions like bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, and chronic nasal disease.
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: It is used for treating wounds, abscesses, and dermatological infections.
• Ear Infections: Azithromycin treats infections of the external ear canal (otitis externa).
• Gastrointestinal and Urogenital Infections: It can be used for certain infections of the stomach, intestines, urinary tract, and reproductive organs.
• Specific Parasitic Infections: In dogs and cats, it is used in combination with other medications (like atovaquone) to treat certain tick-borne parasitic infections, such as Babesia gibsoni and Cytauxzoonosis.

ADMINISTRATION

• Preparation: If the medication comes as a powder, you will need to add the specified amount of water and shake the bottle well to create the suspension.
• Dosing: Shake the suspension well before each use. Use a calibrated oral syringe to measure the exact dose; household spoons are not accurate enough.
• Administration: The suspension can be given directly into the pet’s mouth, or mixed with a small amount of food to help prevent stomach upset and ensure they take the full dose. The oral suspension is preferably given on an empty stomach for better absorption, but with food is acceptable if stomach upset occurs.
• Duration: Finish the entire course of treatment as prescribed, even if your pet seems better, to prevent the infection from recurring or developing antibiotic resistance.
