Virbac BOVIGEN Platinum 5 Vaccine

Virbac's BOVIGEN Platinum 5 is a modified-live vaccine for healthy cattle designed to prevent respiratory and reproductive disease caused by Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR). A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Virbac’s BOVIGEN Platinum 5 vaccine is used to prevent disease caused by the Bovine Thinotracheitis virus (IBR) in cattle.

INDICATIONS

  • Respiratory Protection: Aids in reducing respiratory diseases caused by IBR, PI3, BRSV, and BVD.
  • Reproductive Protection: Protects against BVD-induced reproductive issues, including the prevention of persistently infected (PI) calves.
  • Targeted Protection: Specifically protects against both BVD Type 1a and 1b.
  • Usage: Suitable for weaned calves, replacement heifers, and in preconditioning programs.
  • Dosage: 2 mL administered subcutaneously.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Method: Subcutaneous (SC) injection.
  • Dosage: 2 mL per animal.
  • Vaccination Protocol: A primary dose is followed by a second dose of modified-live vaccine 14 to 28 days later.
  • Target Population: Safe for use in pregnant cows and calves nursing pregnant cows, provided they were vaccinated 30 to 60 days pre-breeding with a BOVIGEN Platinum 5-way modified live vaccine.
  • Site: Administer subcutaneously, typically in the neck area, to minimize carcass damage.
