Sarafloxacin

Sarafloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for the treatment and control of bacterial infections in poultry and pigs.

Poultry (Chickens, Broilers, Turkeys):
- Colibacillosis: For treatment of infections caused by Escherichia coli, including colisepticemia and air sac lesions.
- Salmonellosis: For control of mortality and infections caused by Salmonella species.
- Mycoplasmosis: For treatment of respiratory and systemic infections caused by Mycoplasma.
- Other Bacterial Infections: For necrotic enteritis, septicemia, staphylococcal and streptococcal infections, hemophilia, and pasteurellosis.
Pigs:
- For treatment of bacterial enteritis (scours).
- For management of respiratory diseases (e.g., swine enzootic pneumonia).
- For treatment of Salmonellosis.
- For addressing other systemic bacterial infections.

Preparation: Powder must be completely dissolved in the required amount of clean drinking water before use.
Delivery: The medicated water is provided to the animals as their sole source of drinking water during the treatment period.
Exclusivity: The bird or animal should receive only the water containing the medication throughout the entire treatment course to ensure they receive the correct dose.
Absorption: The medication is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream via the gastrointestinal tract.
