Ornithobacterium Rhinotracheale Vaccine

Intervet Nobilis ORT Inac vaccine is indicated for the control of respiratory infections in chickens and turkeys.
INDICATIONS
- Active Immunization: Indicated for the active vaccination of healthy flocks (chickens and turkeys) to prevent or reduce infections caused by Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale.
- Passive Immunity for Progeny: For broiler breeders, the vaccine is indicated to stimulate active immunity that provides passive protection to their offspring (broiler chicks). This protection typically lasts for the first 14 to 21 days after hatching.
- Reduction of Clinical Symptoms: Targeted at reducing typical respiratory signs of ornitobacteriosis, such as:
- Tracheitis and Airsacculitis: Reducing inflammation and “yogurt-like” exudates in the air sacs.
- Pneumonia: Preventing both unilateral and bilateral exudative pneumonia.
- Secondary Effects: Minimizing growth retardation, mortality, and drops in egg production associated with the infection.
- Serotype-Specific Protection: Many vaccines are specifically indicated for Serotype A, which is the most prevalent serotype in commercial poultry.
ADMINISTRATION
- Route: The vaccine is administered by subcutaneous injection in the neck or intramuscular injection in the breast muscle.
- Dosage: A single dose is 0.25 ml per bird.
- Vaccination Scheme: The complete scheme involves two injections:
- First injection: Administered at 6 to 12 weeks of age.
- Second injection: Administered at least 6 weeks after the first injection, when the birds are 14 to 18 weeks of age.
- Not for use in birds that are in lay.
